If you wish to attend a court event by telephone / video link you need to make that request to the court and set out the reasons why you are requesting to attend by telephone/video link.

You also need to advise the other party you will be making the request and determine whether they agree or disagree to this.

The approval or refusal of a request is a matter for the docketed judge or the registrar the matter is listed before.

To apply to the court, complete the attached form and it can then be eFiled, emailed, posted or sent by fax and should be sent to the court or eFiled at least five business days prior to the court event. If your request is received after this, it may not be considered.

If the court event is before a judge, the completed form should be eFiled or sent to the chambers of the judge who is hearing the application. For contact details go to Judges of the Federal Circuit Court then choose the appropriate location and then judge.

If the court event is before a registrar, including a divorce hearing, the completed form should be eFiled or sent to the registry where the application is being heard. For contact details go to Court Locations and select the appropriate state and then registry location. For email links go to Registry enquiries (or if a divorce court event go to Divorce hearings, if available).

The Court will consider your request upon receipt and will advise you of the outcome (whether your request has been granted or not granted).
