PDF forms

What is PDF?

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. PDF documents maintain the original layout and format of a document to preserve its visual presentation.

How can I print PDF forms

You can print the PDF forms using Acrobat Reader. You can download Acrobat Reader from the Adobe website.

Troubleshooting documents related to printing PDF files are available on the Adobe website.

Word forms

The forms have a large left margin

The left-side margin was deliberately left wide to help court staff (and others) read the documents easily after they have been placed on files.

When completed, the forms don't print out

Once you have completed the fillable sections, you may need to adjust your printer settings to accommodate the larger margin settings. Make sure the box 'Print to fit page' is ticked.

The text size is too small

Users are advised to open the document at 120% plus if text size is a problem.

Why can't I type anywhere I want to in the Word forms? I can only seem to type into the grey boxes.

The MS Word forms are deliberately locked. You are only able to alter those parts of the forms that are required to be completed.

I need more space to fill in the answers

The grey boxes are fields that have been put in to enable you to type your details. Most of them can be expanded (you can get more lines) by clicking the enter key on your computer keyboard. If the form does not allow you to type more information, type the extra text on another page and attach it to the end of the form.

RTF forms

What is RTF and how is it different?

RTF stands for Rich Text Format. This version is for people who do not have Microsoft Word on their computer. It should be compatible in any program and allow you to type in the information to complete the form.

Other form help

I need more space on the Affidavit to write down my evidence

If there is not enough space to type into in the forms, you can attach extra pages at the end of the Affidavit.

When I print the forms they print off the side of the page. Why is this happening?

Check your printer settings. Make sure the box 'Print to fit page' is ticked. When printing a PDF, also tick the 'Print as Image' box.

What if I have tried everything suggested and am still having trouble?
